Fudging the numbers

"I believe we will be able to demonstrate that some of the global warming increase is not from CO2 but from localized changes in the temperature-measurement environment."

- Anthony Watts, quoted by Pittsburgh Tribune-Review (read full story here)

Very interesting article addresses subjectivity in temperature measurements.

Anthony Watts' web site is sufacestations.org.

Boulder Colorado is going to pass a new law that bans to construction of "mansions", defined and being over 5,000 square feet, something like that.

These big homes evidently cause global warming.

Of course, none of the current residents with big homes are affected, including several of the city council members. But I digress.

If a landowner (a term Boulderites do not like, they prefer land caretaker) wants to build a big house, or a "lodge" as the case may be, they now need to apply to the "committee" and hopefully be allowed to pay a "green tax" to the city, which in it's sole wisdom will determine how much the tax is, and who it applies to.

(conservatives need not apply -- to be able to even be permitted to pay the tax you must kneel to the altar of the global warming gods and express your repentance for environmental violation, and beg to pay the forgiveness tax)

This is just one idication of the direction the Goracle crowd will take our country.

A Newton law is something like for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction? Something like that?

I used to consider myself an environmentalist, someone who wants to guard against pollution and safeguard our wildlife.

But, with the extremists now in charge of that label, I am almost to the point of opposing every single "pro-environmental" position.

I will not even recycle anymore.

The radical left only succeeds in pushing more people farther to the right.

And, fudging the numbers is a means that justifies their end.

Which is -- Social Justice.

The most dangerous phrase in America, in my opinion.

Ok, maybe tied with Moderate Islam.

Modern environmentalism is a vehicle for promoting liberalism.

It has nothing to do with any sincere caring about the environment.

It is all about higher taxes and more government control over peoples' lives.
