Not Christian enough?

"Everyone knows he's conservative and has come out strongly for the things that the pro-family movement stands for," Dobson said of Thompson. "[But] I don't think he's a Christian; at least that's my impression," Dobson added, saying that such an impression would make it difficult for Thompson to connect with the Republican Party's conservative Christian base and win the GOP nomination.

It is tough finding that perfect candidate.

I see little value in Thompson entering the race.

I don't like Senators for the most part. They never have to do anything but vote. They make incompetant executives.

I agree with you on senators. They really have to shift gears to go into executive mode.

There seems to be a lot of excitement about Thompson from the Fredheads who admire his conservative stands on several issues.

Many of those Fredheads do not like Giuliani and McCain, and are desperate for someone else.
