Partial Birth Abortions

he Supreme Court upheld the nationwide ban on a controversial abortion procedure Wednesday, handing abortion opponents the long-awaited victory they expected from a more conservative bench.

The 5-4 ruling said the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act that Congress passed and President Bush signed into law in 2003 does not violate a woman's constitutional right to an abortion.

The AP story refers to a "woman's constitutional right to an abortion".

Now I'd bet you the Constitution writers and approvers would be very surprised to learn of this.

Much more likely is this -a "woman's constitutional right to an abortion" was invented by modern liberal activists and consented to by modern liberal judges.

To imply anything else is, well, an abortion?

During a week where we mourn 32 murdered innocent people, including a kid who played on Jeff's and my soccer team in New Jersey, many of those among us purposely look the other way while 3,000 perfectly healthy innocent babies are executed each year (on their birthday no less)in medical clinics across the country.

Abortion activists can rest easier knowing that while the procedure of pulling the head out, crushing the skull and sucking out the brains is now illegal, it remains legal to go inside the uterus and dismember the baby before taking him out piece by piece.

So, no need to get upset at this time.
