Unorthodox Chess Openings

Unorthodox Chess Openings (1998) by Eric Schiller

The Complete and Definitive Guide to All the Major Unorthodox Chess Openings

1,200 Opening Strategies Presented!

Interesting book, not a book that you would read cover-to-cover, more of an encyclopedia.

Contains a lot of advice on how not to play chess.

And like most chess books, you have to play out the moves on a chess board while you read it if you are going to get anything out of it.

I will bring my computerized chess board along this summer. You can set the computer skill level to match your own. It plays with actual chess pieces. You can also use a chess clock to balance the odds of winning. Although the computer takes very little time to decide on its moves.
