"I agree with Newt. Gonzales needs to go - not because he did anything wrong - but because of how incompetent he was in handling this situation.

To repeat - there is no scandal here. The President can hire and/or fire whomever he wants for whatever reason he wants. There’s no indication that the 8 were fired because the administration wanted to impede prosecution of guilty people, or frame innocent ones. Since that’s the case the President can fire a US Attorney simply because he doesn’t like him or her."

But of course there is the liberal double standard.

A Democrat can fire anyone he or she wants.

Different rules apply if you are not a Democrat.
