Winning with the Scandinavian (1993) by Ron Harman and Shaun Taulbut
Like most chess books, the reader has to sit in front of a chess board and move the pieces to get the most out of it. Unless you are one of the few chess players who can visualize chess positions in your head, in which case you would not need this book in the first place.
And like most "system" books, many chess games soon depart from the main lines to such an extent that the book is no longer directly applicable.
Nevertheless, this is an interesting book on the Scandinavian (Center-Counter) Defense used by chess players like Bent Larsen, Ian Rogers, Jon Speelman, Michael Adams and Julian Hodgson.
Castellyi - Vinoles (1485)

The authors explore many other variations including Alternative Queen Retreats, Scandinavian Gambit, Panov-Botvinnik Attack, and Icelandic Gambit.
Contains many annotated games including games by Morphy, Tarrasch, Alekhine, and Karpov.
A fun book, well worth reading, more than once.

It is of no surprise that I am losing our match.
I will have to be more prepared for the rematch.
Chess is like boxing.
I might be ahead on points, but one knockout punch changes everything.
