Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton is heading south and the question is: Will she use her occasional Dixie drawl?
Scott Huffmon, a political science professor at South Carolina's Winthrop University, said Clinton's strong ties to the black community - due in part to her husband, who is still extremely popular among black voters - should preclude her from adopting a new twang.
"Southerners have a lot of pride in their accent, but they are also sensitive to it," Huffmon said. "If people think, 'Hey, this is how she sounded in Arkansas,' it will be one thing. But if it at all seems that it's a disingenuous use, it will be to her detriment."

The Clinton drawl is so cynical and manipulative. Which is why it appeals to liberals.
