Little Miss Attila accused me of being in Debbie Schussel's amen corner.

Ouch.

I saw an old episode of Star Trek Voyager this morning, the one where Seven of Nine was saved from dying, and after reviving, she insisted that she wanted to be returned to the Borg collective, rather than regain her human individuality. Seven was convinced that collective thought was superior to any independent thought. In the end, Commander Janeway convinced her to try to recover what was stolen from her in her childhood.

The Borg is an excellent example of Liberalism - their source of strength is their absolute belief in the truth of their collective uniform thoughts. Variation from the collective is evidence of weakness and inferiority. There is no consideration to the possibility that they have been robbed during their childhood; of their individuality, of their ability to challenge what they have been conditioned to accept without question.

It seems like almost any lesson in life can be learned better from Star Trek than from our Universities of Borg.

Unfortunately, the Borg, and their Liberal cousins, are very dangerous lifeforms.

I like the designation "Universities of Borg." It provides a good label for the collective liberal mentality.
