The claim he knew nothing of these investments is absurd. These are obscure companies that nobody invests in unless they have a specific reason to do so -- i.e. they know the people who run it.
The odds of these two obscure companies being chosen randomly are millions to one.
About the same chance Osama Hussein Obama has of being President.
If he was an honest guy he would just say the truth, "hey I made some cash on my book, and wanted to invest it, so some of my pals were involved in some companies so I put some money in with them. I was naive and didn't realize maybe that wasn't such a good idea since I vote on policy that effects those companies. My bad"
Why can't he just say the truth?

He probably feels that he does not need to tell the truth because he has the leftmost media watching his back for him.
