"I don't know what is worse, the use of the word "surge" by the Bush administration to describe its plans for Iraq or that so many people in the news media have taken to parroting the word, as if it's a perfectly legitimate description of what the president has in mind. C'mon. Let's lose the euphemisms. This is an escalation of the war, plain and simple; let's call it that. Unless, of course, we're going to allow opponents of the escalation to describe themselves as surge suppressors.
